Docusign cost per envelope, worked out from its own price list

Docusign prices its eSignature plans by the month and caps how many envelopes each one sends. Dividing one by the other gives the price of a single envelope, which the pricing page never states.

All figures come from the Docusign price file, read off Docusign's eSignature pricing page on 1 October 2026 in all three billing options. Each cost assumes every envelope in the allowance is used.

The allowances

  • Personal: 5 envelopes a month on every billing option, so 60 a year.
  • Standard and Business Pro, either annual option: 100 envelopes per user per year.
  • Standard and Business Pro, billed monthly: 10 envelopes per user per month.

Cost per envelope

Plan and billing Sum Per envelope
Personal, annual paid upfront $120 / (5 x 12) = $2.00 $2.00
Personal, annual paid monthly $132 / (5 x 12) = $2.20 $2.20
Personal, month to month $15 / 5 = $3.00 $3.00
Standard, annual paid upfront $300 / 100 = $3.00 $3.00
Standard, annual paid monthly $360 / 100 = $3.60 $3.60
Standard, month to month $45 / 10 = $4.50 $4.50
Business Pro, annual paid upfront $480 / 100 = $4.80 $4.80
Business Pro, annual paid monthly $540 / 100 = $5.40 $5.40
Business Pro, month to month $65 / 10 = $6.50 $6.50

Standard and Business Pro figures are per user.

What the table shows

  • The cheapest envelope is on the cheapest plan. Personal, paid for the year upfront, works out at $2.00. The same plan month to month is $3.00.
  • Billing month to month raises the price of every envelope. On Standard and Business Pro it does so even though it also raises the allowance: 10 a month is 120 a year, against 100 on the annual options.
  • "Annual, paid monthly" is still a 12-month commitment. After the first 30 days, cancelling means paying the rest of the year. It costs more per envelope than paying upfront on every plan.

Add-ons are charged per use

SMS delivery and identity verification are extra, and only on Standard or Business Pro. SMS starts at $0.40 per delivery and identity verification at $2.50 per attempt on the upfront and monthly options, or $0.36 and $2.40 on the annual option paid monthly.

For comparison

PandaDoc's Starter plan includes unlimited e-signatures at $19 per seat a month billed annually, so it has no per-envelope cost at all; the two are set side by side in Docusign vs PandaDoc.
