What the free tier actually allows

What the pricing page does not say

What a team pays for Docusign

Docusign cost per user, worked from the published prices. Personal is priced per month, not per user, and is described as for individuals and sole proprietors, so it appears only in the one-person rows.

Team Plan Annual, upfront Annual, paid monthly Month to month
1 person Personal $10 x 12 = $120 a year $11 x 12 = $132 a year $15 x 12 = $180 a year
1 person Standard $25 x 12 = $300 a year $30 x 12 = $360 a year $45 x 12 = $540 a year
5 users Standard 5 x $25 x 12 = $1,500 a year 5 x $30 x 12 = $1,800 a year 5 x $45 x 12 = $2,700 a year
5 users Business Pro 5 x $40 x 12 = $2,400 a year 5 x $45 x 12 = $2,700 a year 5 x $65 x 12 = $3,900 a year
20 users Standard 20 x $25 x 12 = $6,000 a year 20 x $30 x 12 = $7,200 a year 20 x $45 x 12 = $10,800 a year
20 users Business Pro 20 x $40 x 12 = $9,600 a year 20 x $45 x 12 = $10,800 a year 20 x $65 x 12 = $15,600 a year

Tax is extra where it applies. A 5-person team on Standard pays $1,200 more a year month to month ($2,700) than paying the year upfront ($1,500).

Which plan fits which team

Personal suits one sender who needs no more than 5 envelopes a month. Standard is the first plan with shared templates, team commenting and custom branding, and the page marks it as the most popular. Business Pro is for teams that need web forms, bulk sending or payment collection during signing. Above 50 users, the page directs buyers to sales, and Enhanced plans carry no published price.

Billing details

The pricing page has a Subscription Type control with three options. Against the monthly price, paying the year upfront saves 33% on Personal ($15 to $10), 44% on Standard ($45 to $25) and 38% on Business Pro ($65 to $40), which matches the page's "save up to 44%". The annual commitment paid monthly saves 27%, 33% and 31%, matching its "save up to 33%".

Envelope allowances change with the billing term. On either annual option, Standard and Business Pro allow 100 envelopes per user per year in total; month to month they allow 10 per user per month. A team that sends steadily every month gets 120 a year on monthly billing and 100 on annual, so heavy senders should count envelopes before choosing the cheaper term. SMS and identity verification are add-ons on top, priced per use.
