HoneyBook pricing: what each plan actually costs
Three plans, all priced on annual billing, and a 30 day trial that is often mistaken for a free tier. The figures below were read off HoneyBook's own pricing page on the date shown.
The short answer. HoneyBook costs $29, $49 or $109 a month when billed yearly. Starter includes no team members, Essentials includes up to two, and Premium is the only plan with unlimited team members. There is no free plan, only a 30 day trial with no card required.

What the free tier actually allows
- There is no free plan. HoneyBook offers a 30 day trial, and the pricing page states no credit card is required to start it.
- A trial is not a free tier: it ends. Any comparison that lists HoneyBook as having a free option is describing the trial.
What the pricing page does not say
- Every headline price on the pricing page is the annual billing price. The monthly billing rate was not confirmed on this check, so it is not published here.
- Starter includes no team members at all. A second person on the account means Essentials, so the real entry price for any two person operation is $49 a month, not $29.
- Two regular prices are displayed next to the discounted ones, $59 against Essentials and $129 against Premium. Whether those are the monthly billing rates or a list price was not confirmed, so no monthly figure is stated on this file.
Where the entry price stops being the entry price
The $29 figure is real, and it is also the price of a single seat product. Starter includes no team members, so a business with one assistant is on Essentials at $49, which is a 69 percent increase over the number most comparison pages quote.
That is the pattern worth checking on any per seat tool: the advertised price is usually the price of the version you grow out of.
The trial is doing a lot of work
A 30 day trial with no card required is genuinely generous, and it is also the reason HoneyBook appears in "free tools for freelancers" lists where it does not belong. There is no free plan here. When the 30 days end, the product stops.
If this one does not fit
- Dubsado not published
- The closer comparison on contracts and client management, and the one buyers weigh against HoneyBook most often.
- Bonsai not published
- Covers contracts and invoicing in one place, which suits a solo operator who does not need the CRM side.
Questions
- Does HoneyBook have a free plan?
- No. There is a 30 day trial that needs no credit card, but no permanently free tier. Comparisons that show HoneyBook as free are describing the trial.
- How much is HoneyBook per month?
- $29, $49 or $109 a month depending on the plan, billed yearly. Those are the figures the pricing page displays.
- Which HoneyBook plan allows team members?
- Essentials includes up to two team members and Premium includes unlimited. Starter includes none, so a two person business starts at Essentials.
- Is the cheapest plan enough on its own?
- For one person, yes: Starter carries unlimited clients and projects, invoices, contracts and the client portal. It stops working the moment a second person needs an account.
What this check confirmed
Confirmed on this check: the three plan names, their annual billing prices, the team member limits and the absence of a free plan. The captured page also shows a monthly billing toggle and states a saving of up to 18% for paying annually. The monthly figures themselves were not read, so none are published here.
