ClickUp vs Notion: what each costs
ClickUp is a work management tool and Notion is a workspace for docs, wikis and databases. Both price per person with a free plan and a lower rate for annual billing. The difference in how they bill: ClickUp's free plan allows unlimited members inside 60MB of storage, while Notion's free plan limits blocks once a workspace has 2 or more members.
The short answer. ClickUp vs Notion pricing: both have a free plan, and ClickUp's paid rates are lower on each published tier. Enterprise is quote only on both. Files checked 2 and 3 Oct 2026.

Which one is for you
Pick ClickUp if the lower per user rate decides it: Unlimited is $7 and Business is $12 per user per month billed yearly, and the Free Forever plan allows unlimited members within 60MB of storage.
Pick Notion if one person can work inside the Free plan, which gives a single user unlimited pages and blocks, or if the team pays month to month, where Notion's premium over annual billing is 20% on both Plus and Business.
What ClickUp's pricing page does not say
- Monthly billing carries a large premium: Unlimited is $10 instead of $7 per user per month (43% more) and Business is $19 instead of $12 (58% more).
- AI is priced in a separate block from the plans. Brain AI is $9 per user per month and Everything AI is $28 per user per month, as shown with that block's switch on Yearly.
- Extra AI usage is metered: AI Super Credits cost $10 per 10,000 credits, and the page says usage varies by complexity.
- The free plan's storage limit is 60MB in total. Unlimited storage needs a paid plan.
- Google SSO starts on Business. SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning are on Enterprise, which has no published price.
- Automations are capped by plan: 5K per month on Business and 250K per month on Enterprise.
What Notion's pricing page does not say
- Notion's AI features are only a limited trial on Free and Plus. Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes and Enterprise Search are included in full from Business, at $20 per member per month billed annually.
- Custom Agents are billed on top of the plan: the page says they are free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits.
- Every member of the workspace is a paid seat. At renewal the bill is the plan price multiplied by the number of members, and a seat added mid-cycle is kept for the rest of the billing period.
- Custom domains for published sites are listed as pay per domain on every paid plan, with no price on the pricing page.
- The Free plan's block limit for workspaces with 2 or more members is not stated as a number.
ClickUp or Notion for one person
One person pays nothing on either tool. ClickUp's Free Forever plan allows unlimited members and unlimited tasks, with storage capped at 60MB in total and 1 form. Notion's Free plan gives a single person unlimited pages and blocks, with file uploads up to 5 MB, 7 days of page history and 10 external guests.
A second member changes the Notion side. With 2 or more members the Free plan allows a limited number of blocks, and Notion's pricing page does not say how many. On ClickUp the free plan has no member limit, so the move to a paid plan comes from the storage cap or from features.
What a team of 5 or 20 pays
Both tools price per person (ClickUp per user, Notion per member), so the monthly bill is the head count times the rate.
| Plan and billing | Per person a month | Team of 5 | Team of 20 |
|---|---|---|---|
| ClickUp Unlimited, yearly | $7 | 5 x $7 | 20 x $7 |
| Notion Plus, annual | $10 | 5 x $10 | 20 x $10 |
| ClickUp Unlimited, monthly | $10 | 5 x $10 | 20 x $10 |
| Notion Plus, monthly | $12 | 5 x $12 | 20 x $12 |
| ClickUp Business, yearly | $12 | 5 x $12 | 20 x $12 |
| Notion Business, annual | $20 | 5 x $20 | 20 x $20 |
| ClickUp Business, monthly | $19 | 5 x $19 | 20 x $19 |
| Notion Business, monthly | $24 | 5 x $24 | 20 x $24 |
Is ClickUp cheaper than Notion? Yes, on every published paid rate, on both billing options. The gap is narrowest on monthly billing: ClickUp Unlimited at $10 against Notion Plus at $12.
