Docusign vs SignNow: what each costs
Docusign eSignature and SignNow both collect legally binding signatures on documents. The difference in how they bill: Docusign charges per user on its team plans and offers three billing options, while SignNow charges per account with unlimited users, billed annually, and caps signature invites.
The short answer. Docusign vs SignNow pricing: SignNow Basic is $8 a month billed annually with unlimited users and 100 invites per year. Docusign Personal is $10 a month paid annually upfront for one person, and Docusign Standard is $25 per user a month. For any team, SignNow's flat price is lower; Docusign allows more envelopes per user.

Which one is for you
Pick Docusign if each sender needs their own envelope allowance (100 per user per year on Standard and Business Pro on annual billing) or the option to pay month to month.
Pick SignNow if several people send documents and the account stays within 100 invites a year, since its $8, $15 and $30 plans cover unlimited users.
What Docusign's pricing page does not say
- Annual plans cap envelopes per year, monthly plans per month. Standard and Business Pro on either annual option allow 100 envelopes per user per year; billed monthly they allow 10 per user per month, which is 120 a year.
- The 'Annual | Billed monthly' option is still a 12-month commitment. After the first 30 days, cancelling means paying the remaining balance of the annual subscription, including taxes.
- Add-on prices change with the billing option. On 'Annual | Billed monthly' SMS starts at $0.36 per delivery and identity verification at $2.40 per attempt; on the upfront annual and monthly options they start at $0.40 and $2.50. Add-ons are available only on Standard or Business Pro.
- The default view is 'Annual | Billed monthly', not the cheapest option. Paying the year upfront lowers Standard from $30 to $25 per user per month.
- IAM Standard and IAM Professional need at least 3 users. The smallest upfront purchase is 3 x $45 x 12 = $1,620 a year on IAM Standard.
- IAM's unlimited envelopes apply only to sends through the web app. Web forms, PowerForms, bulk send and API sends have an allowance of 10 per user per month or 100 per user per year.
- Collecting payments during signing needs Business Pro or an Enhanced plan. Teams of more than 50 users are directed to sales.
- The page notes that plans, pricing and packaging may be valid for new customers only, and that additional tax may apply to every plan.
What SignNow's pricing page does not say
- The $8, $15 and $30 figures are monthly amounts billed annually. The yearly charge is 12 times the figure: $96, $180 and $360.
- Each card shows a struck-through figure beside the annual price ($20, $30 and $50) and a label reading You save $144, $180 and $240. For Basic, $20 - $8 = $12 and $12 x 12 = $144, which matches the label. That is consistent with the struck-through figure being the month-to-month rate, but the monthly state of the switch was not captured for this file.
- Users are unlimited, but Basic, Business and Advanced each list 100 invites per year. The limit on these plans is the number of signature invites, not the number of people.
- Enterprise has no monthly figure. It is priced at $1.50 per signature invite, so its cost depends on volume, and the volume discounts are not priced on the page.
- Plan names varied between loads of the page on 9 Oct 2026. The $15 plan appeared as Business on three loads and as Business Premium on one, where Business was the name of the $8 plan. Match a plan by its price and feature list before buying.
- Full API access, SSO login, user management and phone support are listed only on the per-invite Enterprise plan.
Docusign or SignNow for one person
One sender pays $8 a month for SignNow Basic, billed annually, against $10 a month for Docusign Personal paid annually upfront, $11 on an annual commitment paid monthly, or $15 month to month. The limits differ in kind: Docusign Personal allows 5 envelopes a month, while SignNow Basic allows 100 invites a year.
What a team of 5 or 20 pays
Docusign's team plans are priced per user, so the bill is the head count times the rate. SignNow's Basic, Business and Advanced plans list unlimited users, so the price does not change with the team.
| Plan and billing | Team of 1 | Team of 5 | Team of 20 |
|---|---|---|---|
| SignNow Basic, annual | $8 | $8 | $8 |
| SignNow Business, annual | $15 | $15 | $15 |
| SignNow Advanced, annual | $30 | $30 | $30 |
| Docusign Standard, annual upfront | $25 | 5 x $25 | 20 x $25 |
| Docusign Standard, annual billed monthly | $30 | 5 x $30 | 20 x $30 |
| Docusign Standard, monthly | $45 | 5 x $45 | 20 x $45 |
| Docusign Business Pro, annual upfront | $40 | 5 x $40 | 20 x $40 |
All figures are per month.
Billing differences
- Annual vs monthly. Docusign publishes three options: annual upfront, an annual commitment billed monthly, and month to month, which costs 80% more than annual upfront on Standard. SignNow's file lists annual-billing prices only; its month-to-month rate was not captured.
- Unlimited users vs envelope caps. SignNow's three plans each allow 100 invites per year for the whole account. Docusign Standard and Business Pro allow 100 envelopes per user per year on annual billing, so a team of 20 gets 20 allowances.
- High volume. SignNow Enterprise is $1.50 per signature invite. Docusign's Enhanced plans are quote only.
The full plan tables are in Docusign's price file and SignNow's price file. Other signing tools are in the contracts and signing drawer.
