What the free tier actually allows
- Acuity Scheduling has no free plan. The FAQ says it does not offer free appointment scheduling at this time.
- Every paid plan has a 7-day free trial with no credit card needed.
- The FAQ says no charge is made when the trial ends until a plan is chosen.
What the pricing page does not say
- There is no free plan, and the trial is 7 days, so a paid plan is needed after the first week.
- Plans are capped by calendars, not users: Starter allows 1, Standard up to 6 and Premium up to 36. More than 36 points to the Enterprise offering, which has no published price.
- Paying monthly costs 24% to 26% more than the annual rate on each plan, although the toggle says Save 20% for annual.
- Prices do not include applicable taxes, per the page.
- Text reminders start on Standard, and a signed BAA for HIPAA compliance is on Premium only.
- The FAQ says annual billing is switched on in the account settings after starting the free trial.
What a business pays for Acuity
Acuity cost depends on how many calendars are needed, not on users. The page prints a monthly figure for each billing choice; the yearly sums below are that figure x 12. Taxes are extra.
| Calendars needed | Plan | Paid annually | Paid monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Starter | $16 x 12 = $192 a year | $20 x 12 = $240 a year |
| 5 | Standard (up to 6) | $27 x 12 = $324 a year | $34 x 12 = $408 a year |
| 20 | Premium (up to 36) | $49 x 12 = $588 a year | $61 x 12 = $732 a year |
If each staff member needs one calendar, a team of 5 fits Standard at $27 a month paid annually, and a team of 20 fits Premium at $49 a month paid annually. Paying monthly adds $48 a year on Starter, $84 on Standard and $144 on Premium.
